New Dahua Snapshot URL

Recommended Posts

Dahua changed the command needed to take snapshots in their newer firmware. First discovered this on their PTZ cameras a few months ago, but recently came across this after firmware updates on their other cameras.

Thanks Tomcctv.

That is very informative. Now hope that all onvif cams and DVR's incorporate the standard correctly.

Buellwinkle, the way it is written it gives the impression that you discovered this onvif compatibility by accident instead of it being advertised as a new onvif compatiblity feature. Is that correct?

No, the URL for a snapshot on Dahua has changed from previous firmware releases and people didn't know what the new URL was and a few here have asked. Could have been in compliance with ONVIF 2.2 as part of the new firmware release. I got the new URL from Dahua tech support, yes, they do have one.

Looks to be the same thing I've been using for about a year.

The elephant went by and no one noticed? No creds needed to get this snap. Or is Dahua + no creds just a given?

I know this is an old post, but I just ended up with a hwd4200SN and the onvif snapshot is a hit or miss. I`m using houselinc and it sends me a camera snapshot when motion is detected and light is turn on outside. The houselinc has issues with the pictures, so do I in a browser. They seemed to come up once in a while, but then stop. I also tried setting the quality to 1 (also lowered the resolution on main feed) and that seems to help with retrieving the snapshots, but they look very poor. Please help, is there another URL or somethign else I can do the firmware I have on it is: 2.210.0000.9.R, build : 2013-12-17

Thanks in advance
