buellwinkle 0 Posted September 23, 2013 Dahua changed the command needed to take snapshots in their newer firmware. First discovered this on their PTZ cameras a few months ago, but recently came across this after firmware updates on their other cameras. http://:9989/onvif/media_service/snapshot?channel=1&subtype=
Robin2 0 Posted September 23, 2013 reminds me of: viewtopic.php?f=3&t=37715&p=231240#p231240 same onvif thing
tomcctv 190 Posted September 23, 2013 reminds me of:viewtopic.php?f=3&t=37715&p=231240#p231240 same onvif thing no need to enter anything other than external ip in the aver. also if you use ONVIf compatable cameras then enter nothing in fields and just press search cameras. search cameras =LAN ip camera site = WAN (cameras of site and other NVRs)
Robin2 0 Posted September 25, 2013 Thanks Tomcctv. That is very informative. Now hope that all onvif cams and DVR's incorporate the standard correctly. Buellwinkle, the way it is written it gives the impression that you discovered this onvif compatibility by accident instead of it being advertised as a new onvif compatiblity feature. Is that correct?
buellwinkle 0 Posted September 25, 2013 No, the URL for a snapshot on Dahua has changed from previous firmware releases and people didn't know what the new URL was and a few here have asked. Could have been in compliance with ONVIF 2.2 as part of the new firmware release. I got the new URL from Dahua tech support, yes, they do have one.
pointblank 0 Posted November 25, 2013 Thanks for sharing. I spent many hours trying to figure this out when the HFW3200S came on scene and gave up. Just checked back--first time in several months--and your URL did the trick. http://IP:9989/onvif/media_service/snapshot?channel=1&subtype=0 Older HDB3200C continue to work with: http://IP/onvif/media_service/snapshot Thanks again. 40th Floor 0 Posted November 26, 2013 Looks to be the same thing I've been using for about a year. The elephant went by and no one noticed? No creds needed to get this snap. Or is Dahua + no creds just a given?
yozh 0 Posted April 25, 2014 I know this is an old post, but I just ended up with a hwd4200SN and the onvif snapshot is a hit or miss. I`m using houselinc and it sends me a camera snapshot when motion is detected and light is turn on outside. The houselinc has issues with the pictures, so do I in a browser. They seemed to come up once in a while, but then stop. I also tried setting the quality to 1 (also lowered the resolution on main feed) and that seems to help with retrieving the snapshots, but they look very poor. Please help, is there another URL or somethign else I can do the firmware I have on it is: 2.210.0000.9.R, build : 2013-12-17 Thanks in advance
