Have two routers and trouble port forwarding?

Recommended Posts

This is a good fix if you have two routers. You just basically make the 2nd router a switch by turning off DHCP, and plug the internet wire in one of the ports. Than you port forward only in the 1st router supplied by your ISP. There is another way by

port forwarding the ports to the 2nd router and than do your normal port forwarding, but I prefer this way as explained in this link.

I just thought I'd share in case someone else had this same issue.

Hi thanks for bringing this up. I actually tried this, but when I click "okay" when disabling DHCP on the second router, I am asked to enter at least ONE DNS address. What does this mean? What am I suppose to put in for the DNS address? The DNS of the DVR hooked into the non-DHCP router? I am using SDR3100 with Linksys routers.
