BrownNVR 0 Posted October 14, 2013 I remember reading somewhere that by using IR lights and an IP camera, you can make an inexpensive LPR camera...however I can't come across that again for the life of me. I have a Q-See system and am located on a street with a stop sign, so I want to set it up so that my camera is focused on the stop sign area and can pick up the license plate from my home, about 70-80 ft away. Either that or face it towards the direction the cars come from, which would be much closer. The street is one way and it's residential so the cars typically would not be going over 30mph. Any help would be appreciated!
buellwinkle 0 Posted October 14, 2013 There's a saying in Brooklyn that sort of fits here, Fugetaboutit. The cameras is fine, but you would need about a 50mm lens, not the 6mm lens that comes with the camera. If it's day only, you can probably get away with just a 25mm lens
