rayt 0 Posted October 15, 2013 So i have many hikvision oem cameras setup, but for some odd reason one of them, a swann varifocal bullet has since then crashed twice on me, i believe the last time was about a month ago, and just recently happened yesterday. i run nvr software with my synology surveillance station, but monitor i liveview with ivms software on my computer that runs 24/7. The same camera has crashed on me, no other cameras are affected, and they are usually atleast a month apart. Does anyone else have problems with hikvision cameras crashing? During a crash, i would lose connectivity to my camera and i would have to unplug/plug it back it to reboot it. Share this post Link to post Share on other sites

It wouldn't respond to pings or the web page, and required unplugging at the switch to restart. It's installed right next to another, and I swapped cables at the camera end to check it out. It's been OK since, and I think it may have been a bad/stressed connection at the camera plug. I won't know for sure until it's run for another month or two, though. I won't know for sure until it's run for another month or two, though. man i hope it is not that case, i ran everything in wall and out a brick wall, wont be fun! luckily i am putting in a managed switch soon, and i should be able to just disable poe on the port to reboot it.
