How manty PIR so i use? and what devices should i connect to?izzit necessary to connect to a dvr or matrix switcher alarm output? any others solution? and what types transmission should i use? fiber optics? If you plan on marrying up cameras with system, PIR's should be spaced as per camera....depending how large you want your target....60 metres would be maximum. As well, PIR coverage will depend on height as well. Exterior PIR's mounted too low can be accessible and also view well beyond their capacity. I've used Eltec models spec'd for 100meters which can detect heat 200 metres away. PIR's should be deadended if at the end of the zone to prevent nuisance alarms. To ensure complete perimeter, piggyback detectors so that first PIR looks to 2nd and then to 3rd and so on. and what devices should i connect to?izzit necessary to connect to a dvr or matrix switcher alarm output? any others solution? You'll need an alarm interface which will "callup" the associated camera on screen and what types transmission should i use? fiber optics? I've used passive UTP for this type of application. Again it depends how many cameras/PIR detectors you end up with. You can get a 16 channel multiplexer which has associated alarm inputs....ie if alarm input 5 is activated....call up camera 5. Multiplexers usually have a composite main monitor/multiscreen output...and a composite "call" monitor which can be used in this application. And for the cameras, if its a large perimeter and you want good video quality with less problems, you should use Active UTP, or Fiber.
