davidruimsig 0 Posted October 23, 2013 Hello all, I am a noob and should know how to do this. I am setting up a DVR with X4 camera. I intend to do the install in stages. First as it came with no monitor just running the client from a PC using a cross-over cable. Later steps will be more camera an Wi-Fi. Later ADSL for remote viewing. I first set it up on the bench to make sure everything was working. I got as far as running the client on lan or Wi-Fi and the ipad viewing. My problem now is I can ping the DVR but not log in with the client sw. If I delete the server on the client sw it will search and find the dvr. I then add it. Select it, enter username and pw. And try to login. And this fails. Please help david
ssnapier 0 Posted October 23, 2013 I am making an assumption here, but make sure you using Internet Explorer when trying to pull it up. It is most likely going to need push an ActiveX plug-in out to your browser, so make sure you allow that. It may even do that two or three times. Be patient with those, sometimes they take a few minutes to get sorted out. After the ActiveX stuff is in place, you should be good to go. This will not work on any other browser by the way. davidruimsig 0 Posted October 24, 2013 Thank you Ssnapier for help. I got problem solved. I deleted all users I had added. And found that the access control was not set. I set it from “not used “ to "allow access” and I added the starting and end IP to include my PC’s. I am not sure if this was the problem but I am glad I have it running now. I hope it will be easier when I get to setting up my D-Link router to port forwarding so we can monitor over the internet. BTW I am using the PC client sw and not the browser over LAN. I have had no joy to get the browser working so far, david
