Replaced old B/W cameras and closures with new now issues

Recommended Posts

Hello,

Thanks up front for any help.

I have replaced 3 older sony B/W outdoor cameras in tube enclosures with these cameras and enclosures from Aventura.

CAM-8X Series analog

CAM-HS-605HB Housing with fan and heater-Did not plug in heaters located in Central FL

Each unit worked fine for 3 months installed in July 2013 but then one unit began to have issues of turning off in the early morning hours then back on 1 -2 hours after dawn. I made changes to settings slowly over time with no results regarding night /day IR settings. Finally set the camera back to default and it began to work fine for 3 -4 weeks.

Now I have the same intermittent trouble with the same camera and one other. Both new Camera's. I did not install system but have decided to trace out cabling and it does not stay the same. Runs through a 3 story block commercial building. No home runs 8 of the cameras from the system are doubled up on a four port power supply. Two cameras on one port. Not sure of brand of power supply.

When watching playback from DVR the video will slowly start to get darker over a 10-15 minute period before just dropping to no video. The latest instance as each camera was not showing video at DVR I tested power and each was 27 vac and I plugged portable viewer into camara and had video they just were not getting back to DVR. Then around 0915 both units came back up. Each are on different power ports and both had power and were sending video. Same cabling and connectors have been in place for since I have been doing maintenance of the system for last 3 years. While each were down I did swap at DVR with good ports with no change.

We are now coming into our cooler weather any where from 80 to 40 degrees. Would this create the need for the heaters. I'm thinking this would create more of a power issue.

Thanks again for your input.
