Looking for help with VSS/Network for new home install.

I have been reading a great deal about video surveillance equipment because I am in the process of building a house that is several hours from my home. I would like to be able to see the outside perimeter in daylight and night. I can provide some exterior lighting for cameras but I do not want it to look like an airport runway! Therefore, I might need IR. Anyway, if anyone has advice on good quality equipment that can be accessible remotely by ipad, etc, I would be most appreciative. Also, if anyone knows of a good wire/installer in the Bentonville, Arkansas area to Springfield, Missouri area, I would be interested in visiting with them too.
