fcaracol 0 Posted November 10, 2013 Hello, I want to buy a CCTV System to my home and I'm a little confused because so many to choose from. In my research I've found a CCTV System that I think is good quality/price. What do you think about the Digiview 4i Pro? http://www.alertelectrical.com/prodvar/8299/digiview-4i-pro-4-channel-networkable-cctv-system-cw-4x-700-tvl-cameras Can I find something better for that price? Is it best to buy cameras and DVR separated? Thanks -- Best Regards FCaracol
ramcewan 0 Posted November 11, 2013 It is tough for me to comment on price as UK prices are often times much different than US prices but assuming 275 pound is roughly $450 USD I would suppose you aren't going to do much better than an 700 TVL system. Myself I would recommend stepping up to something that is power over internet (PoE) with IP cameras of at least 720p resolution. I bought a Q-see system that has 4 IP PoE 720p bullet type cameras and a 1 TB hard drive DVR for around $800 (500 pounds) so you will expect to pay more but you will get more. In terms of separate DVR vs. buying a system I concluded that it is for the most part cheaper to buy the DVR and cameras as a unit as compared to buying pieces.
