da_cctv 0 Posted November 12, 2013 I have a shed that is 150m away from my house which needs cameras setup for the lambing season. I am happy with ordering a DVR and cameras to cover the building but can't decide on the best way to send the cctv stream from the shed back to the dvr in the house. Network cables degrade after 100m so that seems to be out and I dont have line of sight for a wireless transmistter so I think I need RG59 but I am struggling to find a good cable I can run out doors, overground to the shed. I have armoured power cables so something like that would do. Any suggestions would be appreciated.
jeromephone 6 Posted November 13, 2013 they make underground rated RG-6 or 59 with waterblocking I would run that in conduit if you have no plans to ever upgrade to IP. They make a direct bury cable also but the cost of conduit may be well worth it if you want to expand.
