2whldreams 0 Posted November 23, 2013 Greetings, My Defender DVR security system has one RCA jack or VGA connection for video reproduction to a monitor or TV. My TV is an analog unit that will accept one RCA or S video connection. I tried the RCA jack (DVR to TV) and the video reproduction was marginal-read grainy. What I needed was a converter that went from the DVR VGA connection to my TV's S video connection. Amazon offers a $15 Generic (brand name) PC to TV converter. Unit comes with 4 different cables. Significant difference in video reproduction between a one wire (RCA) and S video (4 wire). This is NOT going to make a analog image into a digital video quality image. 300+ reviews, explanations, and advice. Thank you.
SectorSecurity 0 Posted November 25, 2013 Is there a question here? Does the image appear grainy if you attach a monitor via the VGA port directly to the DVR? Were you sure your RCA cable was good?
