JohnSmtihh2 0 Posted November 26, 2013 I just bought DVR and had few mini "spy" cameras, they work okay however they all colored and at night its totally dark. Another issue is even though resolution was good, image was all washed off. (e.g. like cheap dash cam or digital photo camera with 10 megapixels resolution and but image quality of webcam). So what i need four D1 cameras: - Fixed not PTZ camera, any size - bright at night with minimal lighting (so you can recognize face) - clearest (not washed off) image at D1 resolution - ideally colored at day and auto B/W at night I am looking for camera which performance you personally seen, not just based on all this fake specs they put in online stores. SectorSecurity 0 Posted November 27, 2013 I don't know about you but where I buy my equipment from they offer the correct specs with manufacture documents to back it up. D1 doesn't have so much to do with the camera, it is referring to the DVR's ability to record at a specific resolution at 30 FPS. Your requirements sound like you need to go IP cameras and get some megapixel cameras. Dare I say it is you who doesn't understand the specs as they are presented rather then the specs being presented being incorrect?
shockwave199 0 Posted November 27, 2013 You got garbage cameras. The question is, what DVR do you have and what are the recording specs?
JohnSmtihh2 0 Posted November 27, 2013 shockwave199 I have Q-See QT5680-1, 8 channels recording at D1 resolution at 30 FPS per channel. SectorSecurity yep i am pretty new to CCTV, my cameras around the D1 resolution (720x480pixels) now, not sure if connecting higher resolution will work and just record in lower resolution? I dont think i can use ip camera with this DVR it does not have CAT-5 connections for cameras
shockwave199 0 Posted November 27, 2013 So you bought the cameras separately? This is a decent special over at gadspot. The cameras are usually 55 bucks and I'm sure they would be fine. http://www.gadspot.com/p-537-november-promotion-buy-4-of-the-gs6003-get-7500-off.aspx They also got some 800tvl arrays in too and I might be tempted to try a couple of the funky bullet ones because I'm quite sure they have a superb night time image as well, with the IR arrays. http://www.gadspot.com/c-89-800tvl-cameras.aspx Whatever you choose, just make sure the camera is TDN with IR cut and if you need, a varifocal such as 4-9mm or 2.8-12mm. Something around there will help you dial in a perfect field of view if you need something more than fixed field of view from a typical 3.6 or 4mm. I haven't used the above cameras but I do have five gadspots- eyeball domes and bullets and they are still doing great after almost three years. In simple terms, these cameras will work with your DVR. Keep your recording rate high- D1 @ 30fps for the best quality recordings. I think you'll be pleased with what you see. Good luck. JohnSmtihh2 0 Posted November 27, 2013 Thanks for helping me. Yep i got DVR by itself and then got few mini cameras, as bunch of junkies/dealers around me, i think they sell drugs few houses from me, across the street, did not want them to think i am filming them... One thing i dont like about dome and large bullet cameras with IR is that IR leads glows violet in the darkness and attracts too much attention. I dont want to buy IR camera unless i know i can put some physical filter over IR and remove glowing. I'd rather have independent IR source somewhere separate from the camera and have bullet cameras (without IR) as they are much smaller hence difficult to spot. Like this bullet camera However i guess its not going to work as this small bullet cameras same junk as spy cameras, they dont even list TVL where they sell them e.g. at VideSecu store
