deepblue 0 Posted November 29, 2013 I am looking for a long range security camera at around the €5000 price mark with the ability of remote pan, zoom, tilt functionality. The purpose of the camera will be to observe vessel movements within a Harbour, ideally I would like to see a ships name from 10 kilometres away tall order I know. Thermal imaging would add to this, could any one recomend any cameras that would be suitable for this application?
tomcctv 190 Posted November 29, 2013 5000 is way to low for what you are expecting from a camera. but for Costal security best to lease a camera link this in to your radar system and it will do all the work for you. deepblue 0 Posted December 10, 2013 Thanks Tomcctv, I had a chat with Flir about the system you suggested, that starts at €118,500 way over my budget. The closets to my requirements in the Flir range is the PT-602CZ priced at 30k still way too much. Looking around I found the PTZ-6000 at 21k still over my budget. The closest I have found to my requirements is the Bosh MIC-550CLW36P IP. Reviewing the spec after discussing the specifications for the camera in-house we have decided to up the budget to around 10k Euro and reduce the range to 5 km. I would prefer the camera to have functionality in reduced visibility conditions such a low light, heavy rain and fog. I would be grateful for any recommendations. tomcctv 190 Posted December 10, 2013 Hi. The bosh is a very good camera .........as you see anywhere in Europe it's used a lot. However ..... It's your distance that is the problem and also for the money you are spending I think you would be looking for a good software for detection. Your budget gets you into avigilon class. Who already have port and costal software. Well worth talking to. Also as for lens type Pentax. http://www.ricoh.com/fa_security/security/pair/
