garethnboyd 0 Posted December 2, 2013 I have a client who wants the ability to buzz in people coming through one single door, and one set of double doors. No card access or anything, simply an armed/disarmed system with two buttons at the receptionist's desk and two push button exits. Thing is, im not sure how to have a delay on the button press(to allow time for entry/exit) without involving an access control system. If I use toggles, then I have to hope people remember to reset them...which likely won't happen. Trying to keep costs low.

RVT 0 Posted December 3, 2013 Lots of "request to exit" pushbuttons have a circuit built into them that will allow you to vary the amount of time their relay output is energized. I installed one similar to this on our office door to disengage a maglock for about 10 seconds. http://www.securitron.com/en/site/securitron/Products/Push-Buttons/EEB-Emergency-Exit-Buttons/

RVT 0 Posted December 4, 2013 I believe the REX button is Normally Closed only and fixed at 30 seconds. The one we got had a pot inside to vary the time period. Different model.
