empedokles 0 Posted December 7, 2013 Hello. I want to film ravens while they are collecting food (I also want to build an arduino collecting mechanism for them later). It would be great if I could generate hi-res fotos from them. Unfortunately 3mpx cameras only will record with 15fps. I also intend to do some basic computer vision with SimpleCV. My Computer is about 30 meters away. Which camera would you recommend me? On Amazon I saw the Grandstream GXV3672_FHD [2048x1536 (15fps); 1920x1080 (30fps)]. It comes with a fixed 8mm lens. I don't want to spend much more money on it then around the 220 bucks it costs. Fixed means I'm set for a specific position. Well I basically could mount it on a board. But is the image quality on a fixed lens much better than on a vari? What are other camera recommendations? The first image would be a wall-mount possibility (about 5-6 meters away from the food place): The second image is what I would get:
