PC refuses to communicate with Digimerge DVR

Recommended Posts

I'm using Digimerge DVR. I have iPad, iPhone and Android phones where I created local access and remote access using Digi iMobile Touch Lite apps. I also have few laptops where I too created local and remote access connections using CMS-DHLite from Digimerge. All devices work great except one.

Recently I got HP Elite 8300 Small Form Factor PC where I installed a fresh Windows 7 Pro with latest drivers for all devices and updates. CMS-DHLite detects the DVR's correct IP and port, but it refuses to establish a connection, giving incorrect IP/port error after few minutes of trying. I tried different network cards, disabling Windows firewall, disabling Ad-Aware antivirus. When I try to connect using Internet Explorer using local IP:port, it connects, but instead of video, it's showing black screens, and Windows desktop switches to basic mode, which is strange, because that doesn't happen on other computers. HP specs are Core i5 3rd gen, 8GB DDR3, Samsung SSD 840 Pro, 2x WD Black 1TB in RAID1. For some totally unknown reason this PC refuses to properly communicate with the DVR.

Any idea what could cause this sort of issue?

I tried explaining the issue to Didimerge tech support, but the tech refuses to help troubleshoot this because the issue is with this single PC, and not the DVR itself.

Many thanks for any help!

You didn't give us the model number of the DVR, so I just checked a manual for one of them. I do know that many people are having problems with the later versions of Internet Explorer. No only with DVR's but banking access systems, etc. Some of the Digimerge DVR's only work with IE 6, 7 and 8. Were you able to install the DVRemoteAx.cab (Your model might have a different file name) file ok?

Nice little box...

Page 12 of 80- Which power supply do you have?

This PC has a 240W power supply.

CPU / graphics 55W

2x HDD 20W

SSD 0.15W

Motherboard + RAM + DVD drive, maybe like 30W

Doesn't look like it's out of power, but it's something I'll investigate.

Do you have any idea if this PC uses a custom power supply, or is it some kind of small form factor version?

I have few other PCs that I setup from scratch and they connect to the DVR just fine with IE11, I think I had to set them to compatibility mode though.

So far I believe it could be Windows related, power supply or Intel graphics. I set up several of those DVRs before and never encountered this issue.
