mannymendez25 0 Posted January 3, 2014 A friend of mine gave me a 16 port DVR to replace my 4 port DVR. He said I needed to update the firmware and download the CMS software so I can view from my PC. My question is, from where do I download the firmware and CMS software? There is no manufacturer sticker on the DVR so really don't know who to contact. Also, I have the DVR connected to my network. when I try to access the device from IE or Chrome, I get the following message. The mobile phone was detected based on Symbian S60 2nd. We recommend that you download this SCam_2nd.SIS ver1.1.2.624 to install. Any advice or tips would be greatly appreciated.
varascope 0 Posted January 8, 2014 Use internet explorer your first time as 99% of DVR's especially older ones use Active X which runs on IE. (There are exceptions that you can use Active X on Chrome but requires a plugin) Newer DVRs also use Java as an alternative to Active X. Please post back if this works. mkkoskin 0 Posted January 9, 2014 Could you post the model of the DVR from the sticker? Other stuff in the sticker might be interesting aswell, but don't post the serial number. That could give us a hint to figure out the manufacturer, and probably makes it easier to solve the problem as well.
spmchoice 0 Posted February 15, 2016 I have an old Q-See QSD2316L used to work for remote viewing and had stopped working , most likely after OS or IE upgrade . Following msg when accessing local intranet or ourside the router. The mobile phone was detected based on Symbian S60 2nd. We recommend that you download this SCam_2nd.SIS ver1.1.2.624 to install. Had tried changing the router , enabled every Active-x setting in IE and had givenup on it. Decided to get it working this weekend and had spent 3 to 4 hours and finally go the correct software to install and configure . posting so it may help some one else tinkering with this problem. 1. Updated the QSD2316L Firmware -- ( May not be necessary ) http://qsee.custhelp.com/app/answers/detail/a_id/521/~/qsd2316l%3A-firmware-version-2.7.1-(myq-see-and-smartphone-support,-latest) Just copied the tar file to a flash drive and followed the short instructions . Did nto have to untar the file in the flash drive . http://qsee.custhelp.com/ci/fattach/get/151663/1379366395/redirect/1/filename/Updating%20the%20Firmware%20T(1).pdf Note that the DVR server port number changed after the firmware upgrade from default 2000 to 1160 . So if you have a pinhole opened for the 2000 change port at the DVR or at the router to match 2. Downloaded the CMS software from Q-See I used the following CMS software https://qsee.custhelp.com/app/answers/detail/a_id/915 and following the instruction to install and configure my DVR https://q-see.s3.amazonaws.com/content/files/RightNow/T-How%20to%20Add%20Devices%20into%20CMS.pdf Works good now as standAlone client .. hoatname + port 2000 or what ever is configured on you DVR Note that there will is http port 80 and server port 2000 .. use the server port they may be later versions of the CMS software check here http://qsee.custhelp.com/app/browse/index/p/94,101,329/c/ Hope this helps some one struggling to remotely access on older DVRs
