IvanOvich 0 Posted January 5, 2014 I have just did backup on my Q-See DVR and chose option to copy files in DVR format, then i formatted disk. Q-See Supplied program SuperPlay v1.3.2.604 has option to play this files and convert to AVI, however it gives error when i try to open folder with .dat files. Is there other maybee generic software that can play and/or convert this files to AVI?
luckyfella 0 Posted January 5, 2014 Simply google .dat to avi and you will find a whole bunch of free programs. Also, why are you formatting your hard disk after back up? Why not just overwrite? Are you actually backing up the entire disk? To me, that seems like alot of useless video and more time than needed. Why not just back up if something actually happened? Also, does your DVR have the option to convert to AVI as Dahua DVR's do?
aibudo 0 Posted January 5, 2014 Most DVR's allow you to backup directly to AVI. Most also allow you to save in the h.264 format which is playable with the readily available and free VLC player. I also agree with the previous, as to why are you reformatting the HD?
