orjanmen 0 Posted January 21, 2014 Hi. I am looking for a solution for mirroring a PC-screen. Today we use VNC, but this is not stable when multiple users are connect at the same time. Therefore I reach out to the CCTV community. I guess CCTV have developed way better on this field. Security cameras depends on reliable connections. I want a solution that is not rely on the computers capacity. Therefor I want to us a something like a VGA with an adapter. The screen is only showing text black/white,therefore is it not important with a HD resolution, but it must have at least 10 frames per second. For the front-end user, it must be easy to connect, and preferably without any installation. Connection throu a IP adress on a browser, would be great. Demands: Possible to bring in a backpack. Possible to use wireless on a LAN Easy to connect to from PC, smartphone, tablet etc. Serve at least 2+ users at the same time. - Is there any "server" that can serve me good? ssnapier 0 Posted January 21, 2014 You say 2+ users, but what is the total users that could be on this system at one time?
orjanmen 0 Posted January 22, 2014 !f there is a system capable for 10-20 connections, that would be nice. Guess price and size follows number of connections. EDIT: Is this something that would cover my needs? http://www.cctvcamerapros.com/Geovision-Video-Server-p/gv-vs11.htm
MR2 0 Posted January 22, 2014 there are plenty of camera's that act as their own video server, so in theory all you do is throw the camera on your network and start pointing the various iphone/android applications at it, PC's can use a browser pointed at the IP the Geovision thing works for an analog camera, so you would loose a lot of quality vs say a 3mp digital one where remote users would be able to use digital zoom to get details as required... http://www.axis.com/products/video/camera/about_cameras/advantages.htm
orjanmen 0 Posted March 10, 2014 Thank you so much for answers, but I really don't know where I should start looking for equipments. Anyone that have something to recommend? Would like to keep it under 300$. And, is this a good solution? Will it work to use an adapter etc from VGA to the right output, and then show the PC monitor as a camera?
