Pheal 0 Posted January 21, 2018 Can anyone help? Just moved and the previous owner had a security system fitted with a Videoteknika G-TEK GT704TVI DVR. I do not want to pay the silly money for a maintenance contract that consists only a once yearly clean of the outside cameras that the installation company are looking to charge to continue the contract! The maintenance company have given me a User login/password but refuse to give me the admin login/password as it would 'compromise all their other clients'. They will not even remotely log in and reset the password to something like 123456 so that I can access it and reset to something else. So, despite owning a 4 camera DVR I am unable to do anything remotely interesting with it and now faced with throwing a perfectly good piece of kit away. Does anyone know this piece of kit and is there a way to reset the admin password (or add a new admin user)? Many thanks Share this post Link to post Share on other sites

Bluelink 0 Posted February 5, 2018 I found the solution. Entering by telnet, calling the DVR IP, in my case 192.168.1.140. Then log on as: user: root password: xc3511 This worked for me, if not try these ones: root xmhdipc root klv123 root xc3511 root 123456 root jvbzd default OxhlwSG8 defaul tlJwpbo6 defaul S2fGqNFs root hi3518 (https://gist.github.com/gabonator/74cdd6ab4f733ff047356198c781f27d) Then I just remove my two user accounts, as described on this video: I turned off and on my dvr and BINGO!!!! doiamma 0 Posted April 7, 2018 these files can help you calculate the super password based on the date which in some resets it to the default pass, in others it may just allow you to change it i'm not sure. I used it (for mine it was calculate_2.exe file to reset) and then my pass went to blank after a reset and i was in https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/5005588/dvr-pass.zip can you reupload again please ? Guest Posted September 6, 2018 DVR does not recognise your password even if you know what you just entered? My cheap tekvision dvr let me enter a password for admin and then did not recognise it when I tried to log back in. I found that although it accepted the plus sign + in the password when I reentered the password it would only match when I entered spaces in place of the plus sign. 2018+2018 became 2018 2018 I wasted hours on this. hope it helps! montiu 0 Posted September 12, 2018 Hi All, I'm in the same bind as many others in this thread. I've got a 'Kare' DVR and I've lost my admin password. So far I have tried the following things, all to no avail: 1 - Tried 5x different password calculator tools. 3x from https://learncctv.com/how-to-reset-h-264-network-dvr/ and 2x from the thread mentioned here. None work! 2 - Tried removing the battery and leaving the device unplugged from all cables, to drain down, to reset clock. Didn't work. Tried multiple times, with up to 10 minutes waiting. 3 - Tried Applying new firmware image via USB. Refused to boot from two different USB Sticks 4 - Telnet or SSH ports not open.
