Boogieman 1 Posted January 26, 2014 Hey, I installed a DS-2CD2732F-IS its working fine. The issue I am having is with DYNDNS updates via the camera. I have the settings as follows DDNS type = DYNdns Server address = members.dyndns.org Domain = xxxxxxxx.dyndns.org where xxxxxx is the hostname port=0 it will not let me change the port to anything else username and password are correct... it is not updating to dyndns at all, the dyndns logs show no activity for over a week... Edit: I solved this problem....it is so silly. I had inadvertently left a space after the server address (a space after the g in org)... I have seen this happen in other cases as well, user names etc... I hit backspace, saved and everything is working and updating.
Blake CCTV 3 Posted February 3, 2014 Good to see that you got it working, i was interested in this post as i wanted to know if the Hikvision stuff will work with DYNDNS as a lot of DVR's say that they have an updater and they don't actually work and when you ask the supplier they just say "yeah it should work"!. So by solving your problem you have answered my question thanks.
Securame 0 Posted February 3, 2014 Hikvision products work well with Dyndns accounts (free and paid). They also offer for free their own DDNS service.
shockwave199 0 Posted February 3, 2014 For a free Dyndns account, don't count on auto updates from anything. They make you log into your account online there every 30 days to keep your free account. Use either the brands free DNS service if one is embedded or use no-ip if free is what you need.
Blake CCTV 3 Posted February 3, 2014 I used to have free dyndns account but now pay as it is only about £15 a year and is well worth the money as you can do so much more with a full account
ftcnet 0 Posted September 30, 2016 Is it still possible to use DynDNS with a Hikvision NVR? I have a paid DynDNS account, but members.dyndns.org is no longer a valid URL. Hikvision support is no help, they just say they don't support 3rd party applications and recommend using their HiDDNS service instead. It seems account.dyn.com/entrance/ might be Server Address (instead of members.dyndns.org), but that doesn't work. I see some discussion in early 2014 at DynDNS about free hostnames no longer supported. http://www.dyncommunity.com/questions/37583/no-longer-be-supporting-free-hostnames.html If anyone is successfully using DynDNS with a Hikvision NVR, please let us know how you do it. Thanks,

Blake CCTV 3 Posted October 1, 2016 We always use the DNS updater in the router now they always seem to work and you can swop out nvrs etc without having to enter the dns account details every time you do. We pay for a DYNDNS account because it is well worth the money and we don't want our systems going through servers of the cctv manufacturer
