buellwinkle 0 Posted February 8, 2014 Didn't even know there was an NVR out there that did LPR. We use Axis Q1604 (not the Q1604-E) for LPR with a 5-50mm Fujinon lens inside an Axis enclosure (not the one included with the E model, its too small) and a RayTec RM100-30 illuminator and get very high percentage of capture with Milestone LPR module. I'm actually amazed because it covers two lanes and even cars merging from one lane to another so the plate is at a steep angle to the camera and I get plate captures. It's really hard to get cameras equal to the P3364-LVE because it's only 1M and everything else is at least 1080P. If you want a really nice low light IR varifocal vandal dome, the Hikvision DS-2CD2732F-IS is very good less than half the price and 3MP. Also, the ACTi E72 is very good, 3MP, good service and support, about half the price of the Axis. Choice may depend on what works with the Pelco NVR and more likely the ACTi. jjp2014 0 Posted February 11, 2014 Looking at running Milestone Xproject essentials as my NVR software.... Then looking at an I7 4 gigs of ram 1.5TB primary media drive and 250 Gig software drive (5) Axis P3364-Ve domes (4) Axis Q1604 with 50mm telephoto lens system -Need case model that will fit this set-up What is the rule of thumb for IR and LPR?
