kartechnology 0 Posted February 10, 2014 hi, im new here , here is my question I have a 16ch HIKVISION DS-7216HWI-SH (has a 3 pin power plug) And 16 cams of Sony cxd4140gg OSD Camera advertesed as 600tvl but i doubt it. have everthing power with a power srtip(not a surge protector) from a single socket here voltage in india is 230V AC and the dvr is grounded(green wire connected) PSU is 2x of E&E SMPS 12V 5A(cant find on google) has a 2 pin power plug, TRIED revesing the power plug now i get horizontal lines(scrolling from top to bottom,whitish color on a lcd monitor vga from dvr) on my monitor on each camera. previously it wasn't there there. so how can i solve this? VST_Man 1 Posted February 10, 2014 disconnect 1 camera from the dvr at a time until you find the loop. then you have to install a ground loop adapter that shunts the loop OR you can isolate the camera as installed by insulation the camera from the building via insulating materials and screws. Insulating is not always 100%. The adapter is. ground loops are produced when to objects have potential differences that allow current to flow, causing a rolling lined screen. One reason why I love IP cams No ground loop isolator available here and the camera gets the power from the place of the dvr and is not connected to anywhere else.
