icom102 0 Posted February 13, 2014 Got my new CCTV System installed today Cameras SPSDD21/2812R HD-SDI dome 2.8-12MMand a VTSDDVR08G 8CH 1200TV Line DVR pictures are great during the day but the night time pics look funny they seem to have a mist or fog over them what do you guys think off the system and more importantly what do yous think is causing the mist/fog on the cameras? CAPSAT 0 Posted February 20, 2014 most likely it is temperature variation in the surroundings which is creating mist / fog . please check if there is any blower or ventilation duct close by and re-locate the camera unit. please share your further observations, thank you
Kingram 0 Posted February 20, 2014 It is the IR reflecting off your home back into lens , just move camera and give it a clear view ,that will take care of it.
icom102 0 Posted February 20, 2014 Did both things and still the same
shockwave199 0 Posted February 20, 2014 If it's moisture condensing on the inside of the dome, you can actually see it when you look at the dome while it's happening. If it is condensation, avoid opening the dome until you have a low humidity day. You can try putting in a silica pack to absorb moisture, clean the inside dome and lens, and then make sure you put the dome cover back on correctly to make a proper seal. It could be a bad seal which will create an ongoing problem. But if you don't see obvious moisture in the dome while the picture is bad, then it's IR reflections and not much to do and given the cameras are new, either try replacements or exchange for something else. IR in bubble domes is always a gamble.
icom102 0 Posted February 20, 2014 Got the cameras changed there was no condensation in any off them just got the cameras changed again to another camera in a glass dome and they are more or less the same ok we have no external lighting have any of you guys stills taken from hd cameras at night with no external lighting ? milkisbad 0 Posted February 21, 2014 Try to take off the dome then take a photo, if the camera without the dome is clear, then the issue is the dome (IR reflection/foam ring not flush/etc). Try another style of camera such as Turret (eyeball) or Bullet.
icom102 0 Posted February 21, 2014 The camera is a Huviron SK-V251IR D /HD21 when they where putting the camera up the pictures was ok when the dome when on they went funny thow the second pic down seems really bad looks out of focus whats the Huviron SK-V251IR D /HD21 like are they good ?? HiddenMountain 0 Posted February 22, 2014 This thread is of interest to me because I'm having a similar issue with an outdoor cam that I installed recently. It's not moisture, it's not a dirty dome but it is definitely blurry at night.
milkisbad 0 Posted February 22, 2014 Could be manufacturer defect where the foam ring around the camera is not fitting correctly or flush against the dome, see if they have replacement rings from manufacturer or when they installed it, they didn't throw it away right? It really sound like symptom of IR reflection or bleeding .
icom102 0 Posted February 22, 2014 Have any of yous herd of the cameras are they any good? what will solve the problem?
Boogieman 1 Posted February 22, 2014 its most likely some ir reflection because bouncing off the wall that is close to the camera. Or something else that is reflecting the light that we cannot see in the images...or as milkisbad said a bad seal. First you need to reposition the cameras so that there is nothing close reflecting the ir light. Try that first.... Here is a great example of ir reflection caused by the camera ir's bouncing off something that cannot be seen in the video image. http://www.cam-it.org/index.php?topic=6667.
icom102 0 Posted February 22, 2014 the cameras are fine then the dome is taken off they tried turning them away from the house and no good just the same
