Jomadav 0 Posted February 16, 2014 We have an SES Cat.2 phone entry system installed at a customer location that has "a radio station" faintly coming through the speaker when panel is dialing a resident. I have disconnected the phone line and put a buttset on it - it is on the line itself. If I remember right, in Electronics school I heard somewhere you can place a capacitor across the speaker or phone line somewhere and stop it. Does anyone hear know how to do this or know what I am talking about? Or is it a Phone Co. fix?
ssmith10pn 0 Posted February 16, 2014 Does the wire go under ground? What type of wire? We have found that regular riser cable or Plenum cable will only last about 3 years in underground conduit.
luckyfella 0 Posted February 16, 2014 If there is a radio station near by, your existing wire is acting as an antenna. Try changing the wire to shielded and you should be good.
jjp2014 0 Posted February 16, 2014 Had a similar experience, we the manufacture asked us to reverse the pair and both sides of the connection... That helped a little bit.. we ended up re pulling STP ... that solved all issues PITA tho
