highpockets 0 Posted February 16, 2014 I am trying to put together a 6 camera system ( 4 ip and 2 analog ) for my home with a hybrid dvr. My internet provider only gives dynamic ip addresses. So would it be much easier for me to buy a hybrid dvr with built in ddns? Thanks for your help. I have been looking at this dvr unless someone can make a better recommendation. http://www.ebay.com/itm/16CH-H-264-Full-960H-Security-CCTV-Hybrid-DVR-Support-4CH-1080P-IP-Camera-/231060890497?pt=US_Surveillance_Digital_Video_Recorders_Cards&hash=item35cc4d6381
cbodbyl 0 Posted February 17, 2014 What router are you using? Some routers have free dynamic DNS that you can use. Alternatively some ip cameras and encoders have their own free DDNS. It would be more complicated since you would need to setup port forwarding for each camera, but it is another option.
