832971 0 Posted February 17, 2014 Hi, First and foremost If this post happens to be in the wrong section of the forum I apologise, I am rather unfamiliar with this sort of equipment. Saying that I was wondering if anybody could help me out; I recently got my hands on 2x American Dynamics Intellex DVMS DV16000, one of which has a faulty disk drive. When I switch these on they boot up to the Intellex logo and proceed to say "No bootable device -- insert boot disk and press any key". I was wondering if there is any way to overcome this issue, because someone I spoke essentially told me they were broken and I just wanted a second opinion on it. Many thanks for your help
CCTV_Suppliers 0 Posted February 18, 2014 Welcome to this forum... Your Intellex system may be "broken" as you describe, but 100% recoverable. Based on your description of the problem, it seems that your main drive that contains OS and Intellex software is dead - common problem with such systems. You will need what American Dynamics calls it "Restore CD" set allowing you to bring your system back to life. This also will involve replacing your hard drive and cables. While at it, change the power supply with higher rated unit and replace any system fans that it came with (mostly 60mm fans). Now, you have to determine which version Intellex you have - most of such info is located either on the front of such unit or on the bottom. It should state product code that will determine version of Intellex you may have. Based on such product code, you can purchase system restore CD set that will allow you to restore your system back to its original condition. This way if you are using the correct restore process, you can reuse software key which also should be available next to or below of product code. This process is not that difficult, but can be tedious if you are not computer savvy. This process is similar to restoring your XP or Win 7 OS...
