Securame 0 Posted February 20, 2014 It will depend on the bitrate being used on those channels.
Kingram 0 Posted February 20, 2014 I have a 5 camera analog system with a 2TB HD recording 24/7 and it will record for 60 days , I also just got a 4 camera IP setup and I was told a 2TB drive would last 2weeks so I went with a 3TB HD hoping to get 21 days or more of recording. Most people don't go on vacation for more than two weeks at a time but it's nice to have a few more days of cushion, Hope this helps.

SunnyKim 2 Posted February 24, 2014 Capsat, Saying 720TVL may indicate camera is analog & D1 size. Good Quality of D1 MPEG recording could cost 4 Mega Bits Per Second per each camera Average 4 Meg bits are for DVD movie quality. 4Mbits X 3600 secs X 24 Hours X 7 Days % 8 bit = 302,240 Mega Bytes/ Week for one camera. So, for 8 Cameras and for a week operation, you may need at least 2 Tera Bytes. But the bit rates can depend on the situation where camera is located. Lots of Moving Scene, Cameras not performing good for the night or low lighted, etc Best way is to give a week of trial for a good estimate. Then you can decide HDD size and number of weeks, as a safe side.
