Fast Wirless Video Transmisson To Computer with Receiver

Recommended Posts

I have a GeoVision system that utilizes a DSL connection which is far too slow.

The client computer is roughly a quarter of a mile to a half-mile away from the DVR. Almost line of sight with the exception of some trees. Is there a cost effective solution that would work with the GeoVision software to allow fast transmission of video to a receiving unit hooked up to the client computer?

I recall a discussion like this but have been unable to locate it. Any help would be appreciated,

Only thing I can think of is something like Video Comm or Trango, for the analogue real time video, would need a TX and RX for each camera. If you mean sending the video back to the clients place then into the Geo system?

Otherwise IP would mean creating your own wireless IP network, you may be able to do this if you get up high enough on each end. Would save on parts,

Wireless Network - just connect like you would over a local network.

A transmitter and receiver for each camera?

Yes basically they just want to watch what's going on using the WebCam software.

Might be a will to put something up high up on some poles. What type of equipment would be needed and a ballpark figure for costs?

And what kind of transmission speed could be achieved?
