zivtal 0 Posted February 26, 2014 Hi, I have Dahua IPC-HFW3300C and I would like to connect microphone... My problem that I have only DATA POE cable get into the camera and I don't want to push more cable (12V) just for microphone... There is alternative microphone that can use the POE(48V) power too ? buellwinkle 0 Posted February 26, 2014 Can't answer that question but consider that you don't need to run the 12V all the way back to the PoE switch, maybe you have a 110vac outlet nearer to the camera you can use to plug in a 12V power supply.

BTW- I found this: http://www.amazon.com/ETS-SMEA-1-Microphone-Interface-Ethernet-Powered/dp/B00D8UPB8K but it's seem big, not elegant not water proof (for outdoor using)... parrotone 0 Posted February 26, 2014 Is it possible to use a POE splitter Y cable at the camera to tap the power provided by the switch and use it for the mic?
MaxIcon 0 Posted February 26, 2014 POE supplies 48Vdc, and the cam converts it to the voltages it needs internally, so you can't run your mic from that. The easy solution would be to run a POE power splitter and power the mic from that. It's a bit of overkill and bulky to boot, and the splitter should be in a junction box, but that would give you the voltage you need. http://www.amazon.com/TP-LINK-TL-POE10R-Gigabit-Splitter-compliant/dp/B003CFATQK/ref=sr_1_2?s=electronics&ie=UTF8&qid=1393447831&sr=1-2&keywords=poe+splitter If you're an electronics geek, you could whip up a 48V to 12V converter, but I'm assuming you're not or you'd already know that! buellwinkle 0 Posted February 27, 2014 The elegant solution would be to get a camera with a mic built in, just saying or maybe a camera that has mic in instead of line in then you don't need power or a camera that has 12V out on the camera. The amplified mic has a pigtail on it with a power jack and a rca style audio jack. You have to run a wire from the camera's pigtail or block connector to the mic. You need to run power to the mic, be it 48vdc if you find one or 12vdc if you don't. Maybe I'm not getting it but do you already have an extra Ethernet cable running to the camera that you planned on using to power the Mic? If so, how long is this cable, because if it's short I would just put a 12VDC power supply on the far end and solder in an plug on the other. Also, if you want the power side to send this as PoE, not sure why you would, go on eBay, search for 12V Wall Plug PoE injector, it will push 12V through 2 of the wires, solder an rca plug on the mic end. Never said any of this was going to be pretty, LOL. This would be so much fun, I wish I can have mic's in California, they just aren't legal here unless all parties in the video consent, bummer. jjp2014 0 Posted February 27, 2014 What type of camera are you using... Picture of current mount location... I would say depending on the camera model, typically there is only 3 twisted pairs used allowing for 1 twisted pair to allocated for auxiliary use... IE: 568B pin1. Tx+ pin2. Tx- pin3. Rx+ pin4. NOT USED pin5. NOT USED pin6. RX- pin7. NOT USED pin8. NOT USED >>>>>POE will take over auxiliary pins<<<<<<< Depending on the POE injector dictates the pin assignments... Your mic will require at minimum (2) Twisted pairs.... http://www.current-logic.com/shop/index.php?main_page=product_info&products_id=151 < might work never tested this unit.... POE SIDE: I would run cat6 from POE switch fan the twisted pair find what pairs are powered... using the above 568B pin-out which ever pair is not used remove from crimp on both sides... Then assign that pair to the Mic audio send [should be (2) twisted pairs] CAMERA SIDE: Run the cat6 to a Work box: (2) Twisted pairs should be loose -(1) pair will be POE -(1) pair will be mic audio In work box: split the POE pair to the 48vdc input side of converter, continue the 48 VDC POE pair to the camera... pull wire from the 12vdc side of the converter to the microphone unit.... split the Mic audio pair off and patch to microphone audio sends.. - - - - - - - - - Hope this makes sense..... Its POURING rain here in California and I just worked a 15 hour day....in the rain ...

I mean like PoE spliter but with 2 outputs one 48V that continue to LAN(Cable) and one DC 12V out (Like this: http://www.aliexpress.com/item/FREE-SHIPPING-5pcs-a-lot-5v-poe-splitter-12v-poe-splitter-24v-poe-splitter-up-to/1583592474.html but this one is take out the volt from the LAN convert it to 12V DC connector (The 48V stop at the down conversion). If I'm doing "home made" cable witch run 2 pairs 48V, 2 pairs 12V, Data (If it's possible) I don't think on anyway that I can make it elegant... Down converters I got alot' of them... I got this: http://www.ebay.com/itm/350975616749?ssPageName=STRK:MEWNX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1439.l2649 and I got PoE Spliter to 12V (This: http://www.aliexpress.com/item/FREE-SHIPPING-5pcs-a-lot-5v-poe-splitter-12v-poe-splitter-24v-poe-splitter-up-to/1583592474.html)... Like this http://www.ebay.com/itm/New-Spy-Mini-Microphone-CCTV-Security-RCA-Output-/230850540691?pt=US_Surveillance_Accessories&hash=item35bfc3b493 but instead of DC 12V connector IN and OUT will be LAN POE IN and OUT, Even without LAN IN/OUT I'll make a split by my self... Just microphone support 48V input...
zivtal 0 Posted February 27, 2014 Maybe I can use something like this http://www.ebay.com/itm/5Pack-48V-Phantom-Power-XLR-Microphone-For-Video-Camera-Mixer-5piece-/221334856523?pt=AU_Pro_Audio&hash=item338895e34b and then I will put simple RJ45 spliter 1 RJ45(LAN) to the camera and 1 RJ45(POE Only) to the microphone (Like this: http://www.ebay.com/itm/10-RJ45-Cat-5-Lan-Plug-Adapter-2-in-1-Network-Internet-Connector-Spliter-t11-/271408294233?pt=US_Ethernet_Cables_RJ_45_8P8C_&hash=item3f3131e959) It's will still be elegant because it's will be small and I can put it in the wall...
