nirv999 0 Posted March 3, 2014 I have a 4 camera Q-See QT534 system which works well. However the bandwidth usage is sky-high. My ISP says I used more than 40gb in just a few days and has cut me off as this exceeds my monthly allowance. Im not technically well versed at this network/cctv stuff. Can anybody tell me how to still stream the cameras without huge bandwidth usage, please?
shockwave199 0 Posted March 3, 2014 So you monitor the system 24/7 via the Internet? Still though, just a four camera analog system! Seems weird. Maybe they just caught up to you on port 80. You can try using another port, such as 89. And make sure you're monitoring the sub stream of each camera.
pcmcg 0 Posted March 4, 2014 An ISP is going to monitor bandwidth on all ports, not just 80. You would have to max out a 1Mbps connection 24/7 to reach that bandwidth. I think the answer is to not leave the stream running all the time or you have something else running on your machine.
