IP camera for home, help with security

Hi, recently my garage has been broken into and my kawasaki 250 off road bike was stolen. Im looking to install a ip camera so i can view my garage so when i am not there etc. Basically i want to use the Tenvis IPROBOT3 as its cheap and will do the job I'm hoping. But basically I'm worried about security (i am very paranoid) Will this camera be secure? as in will people be able to connect to it from the street? I want to hide this camera from anybody who is connecting to my home network etc.

I want to be able to have no one else apart from me have access to this camera, can i hide the IP of the camera from prying eyes? Sorry for all the questions and paranoia, just want to make sure i don't get targeted again!

If there are any other cameras that will do a better job can someone please forward them onto me. Cheers
