clarets30me 0 Posted March 16, 2014 hi i recently bought a swann 4 camera cctv system (model details on link http://www.maplin.co.uk/p/swann-1tb-9-channel-cctv-kit-with-4-bullet-cameras-n70ql) the problem i have is that the cctv hdd is upstairs in a bedroom connected to my tv. my bt internet hub is downstairs in the lounge. in order to view the cctv online/through my iphone i need to run an ethernet cable from the cctv hdd to the bt hub. due to the distance between the two i am struggling and do not want to have to start drilling through several walls as not very diy capable can i get a wireless adaptor to get into the cctv hdd to pick up the bt hub or could i add a second bt hub upstairs and hope the 2nd hub would pick up the main one downstairs as would none of this work? any advice would be appreciated as i do want to be able to remotely view my cctv whilst out at work thanks mark
ssnapier 0 Posted March 16, 2014 You need a wireless bridge or a video game adapter. Do a search on here, it has been discussed a few times and I know that links to actual products have been posted in the past.

Numb-nuts 1 Posted March 17, 2014 Either that or a home plug kit, which uses your mains electricity to connect to your router. I have used these several times in domestic installations and they are very helpful and tidy, no huge runs of cable running around the skirting etc. Between floors they are a must. Devolo make a great product as do many other makes, but steer clear of the Netgear ones, they are absolute garbage.
