Spy cam with infra red, does it really work ?

Hello, there. I'm Paulo, from Brazil. Well, we are stumbling on many micro cameras with infra red advertisements which say they can record completely in the dark and up to 30 meters. I intend to buy one of these to make a test at home and, if it really works, I can later on buy also a DVR and 3 more cameras. Does anybody here have any experience on that matter ???? I tried to find forums down here in Brasil but I haven't succeeded so far. Thanks a lot for those who can help. Coul you please take a look at these two sites (they are in Portuguese) and tell me what you think ??? I'm sure you'll recognize them. I don't really need 30 meters, close to 10 would be fine for me.
