AlaskaDave 0 Posted March 18, 2014 I work at a LE agency that has 18 EverFocus cameras all linked together through a couple of EDR1640 PowerPlex modules. Some cameras are inside while about 6 are outside. They are getting old, 5-10 years. I have begun to phase in some new EPTZ-3100 cameras but now have a new problem Out of nowhere in recent days the newest camera seems to go off at will, leaving a never before seen blue screen when it is off. The camera comes on at odd times and then goes off again. This is an outside corner camera that has not been tampered with. Could there be a programming issue? How would I access the program? Another outside camera that had been transmitting snow has also turned into a blue screen. I have been waiting to change this remote camera due to snow pack under the unit. Any ideas are welcome and appreciated

AlaskaDave 0 Posted March 24, 2014 Heater is a new thought, does the EPTZ have a built in heater? I believe that all 18 are being powered from 2 power supplies in a central location tied to a battery back up. At least for the one camera the regularity is cause to look for some sort of timer program but I am unaware of a computer in the circuit.
shockwave199 0 Posted March 24, 2014 I only have experience with my one outdoor ptz, but the couple of times it got erratic behavior it was due to a bad power supply, not the camera. Also there was one time where the camera would go into a spin by itself sporadically. A restart of the Dvr cleared that and I hasn't happened again. But aside from any schedule behavior, look to power issues first.
