BORIStheBLADE 0 Posted March 19, 2014 I'm looking for a IP camera indoor and outdoor with the option to store some footage on a memory card. Which ones have you guys used and which ones seem the easiest to use? Do they usually store the video files as a proprietary file on the memory card? I bought a Dlink 1150 Cloud camera (DSC-933l) to test with the hopes of convincing my father the resolution is sub par and he actually felt it was adequate for what he wanted. Since my father doesn't seem to feel a 720p camera is needed I will be looking for something around 640x480 or so. I might be able to talk him into $150.00 max I also noticed Dlink had a small camera video recorder http://www.dlink.com/us/en/home-solutions/view/network-video-recorder/dnr-202l which the idea seemed really good, but I couldn't get it to work right. Are there any other companies that have a similar device? Thanks
buellwinkle 0 Posted March 19, 2014 $150 is tough, heck, the SD card will cost 1/3rd of that budget for 64GB. Camera brands that are decent that have models with SD card slots are; - Acti - record to SD, playback from free windows app - Axis - record to SD, playback from free windows app - Dahua - record to SD, playback from web client - Hikvision - record to SD, playback from web client - Mobotix - record to SD, playback from web client

Well what are my other options besides having a PC server running in the house to store video? I noticed some cameras can FTP to to a network storage. DO these need to use the SD storage ?
