Dahua setup of NVR 52 series and motion detection

I have a Dahua only setup, where I want to have basically most of my cameras to do Motion Detection and then have the NVR record.

 

I am a newbie and even though I have gone thru the manual of the NVR several times I do not seem to be able to make the NVR record accordingly.

 

I have been able to have the camera/NVR at least act to a motion detection cycle since I was able to have an email sent by the NVR and an alarm buzzer go on in the NVR, at motion, but no recording.

 

If I setup in the NVR the schedule to all times recording it works fine but neither the MD or MD+alarm setup do nothing in the recording of the cameras.

 

My device is a Dahua NVR5232-P with firmware 2.610.000.6 and the cameras are all HDW2100 with release 2.100 (still have to try with release 2.210 or 2.212)

 

A step by step setup for dummies would be appreciated.
