Marc1234 0 Posted March 27, 2014 I recently bought this setup: http://www.homedepot.com/p/t/203898956?storeId=10051&langId=-1&catalogId=10053&productId=203898956&R=203898956 I have not installed it yet because I am still trying to figure out camera placement. I've been working with "Pelcocamtool" but I can't get a good close up of my property on google maps to load in for placement. I tried putting in the camera's specs and the range appears to be quite far. I want to only see where it will actually be viewing on my property if possible. Is there a better program? Free would be good because I don't have money to throw around (I didn't pay anywhere near the price on the system listed) I got this system primarily because I have issues with an unwanted person coming to my property and causing damage. Thanks for your help
Roman.CA 0 Posted April 11, 2014 Cant you just see it yourself like connect one camera to DVR start recording and go outside. You should have idea where you want camera to be installed so just go there and hold camera in your hand standing by the wall pointing at desired location for few seconds. Then go home and see the recording, save 1 frame (or make screenshot if you connected from your computer). Then do same thing for remaining cameras. Then just look trough images and see if you have any dead spots. You might want to throw 2 cameras instead of one in some places to cover more area.
