cctv video signal loss... help pls

Recommended Posts

hi ,

i have a 700tvl 1/3" DIS camera via utp cat5 and passive baluns(25feet) . power source 12v dc 1amp.

connected directly to a monitor for realtime montoring.

i get video signal losses every now and then. once signal lost , i have to disconnect and reconnect my BNC rca adapter from the monitor.

some times the video loss is during the night and day vision changing.(i mean IR ON/OFF). some times even during voltage fluctuations.

IS this a ground loop problem?

help pls....

i have attached a sample video of the problem

Could be that the 12V supply that you are using just isn't up to the load. Much more current required when the IR's are turned on.

Could be bad Balun or loose connection. Are you running the power through the Cat5 also? You can double up on the wiring for the power or increase to 1.5 - 2 amp power.

If this fixes the problem (without you turning off the power) could be bad bnc to rca adapter/ balun connection.

Hi. Power supply is too small as aibudo says.

With low power you camera will still stay on I.e your IR but then not enough power to run camera

1amp is not enough for a IR camera
