marley1 0 Posted April 4, 2014 I am installing some interior and exterior camera's. Some exterior locations I will be mounting on the soffit closest to the roof line. This is a two story house and I want to see detail on the deck on the first floor (~20ft off the deck). Will I still be able to see any detail or will I be very limited? I will be using Hikvision 1.3 or 3MP camera (dome/bullet). Same situation on the inside. I have one location in the living room that will be mounted on the ceiling. The living room is open to the second floor, will it be too high to see detail?
buellwinkle 0 Posted April 5, 2014 If the camera is too high above the subject, you will get the top of their heads making it harder to identify someone, especially if they are wearing a cap. Indoors in ceilings is OK because it's only typically 8-9' high.
