RichTJ99 0 Posted January 18, 2006 Hi, I just swapped out a R58 (50 foot) cable with a prebuilt siamese cable. The cable was BNC on one end & RCA on the other, I used an adapter connector to make the rca into BNC. The image looks a little worse to me with the combo cable. The combo cable is 150 feet. Could that be the issue? Thanks Rich
rory 0 Posted January 18, 2006 Yep, that combo cable is basically just RCA which is not as good as RG58 even.
securitymonster 0 Posted January 18, 2006 How are you sending power to the camera? Is it a wall wort? If so, how many amps? Power could be an issue...
Jasper 0 Posted January 18, 2006 If it is the thin type of cable it will experience voltage drop faster than the thicker 18 guage power wires used in the regular siamese cable. Have you measured the power at the end of the cable where it would connect to the camera. What is the reading? Are you using a power box? Anything change that had to do with the power source?
