joe4 0 Posted January 18, 2006 Can someone tell me what camera is better? JVC http://www.4ademo.com/documents/jvc/tkc920ua.pdf Toshiba http://www.toshiba.com/taisisd/security/products/prod_camera_detail_ik6400a.jsp [link edited by mod]
rory 0 Posted January 18, 2006 They are both similar when you compare F stop sensitivity levels, Toshiba is 0.2 lux at f:1.0 and the JVC is 0.4 Lux at f:1.2. JVC is slightly higher res, not that noticable though. Neither are True Day Night Cameras. If I had to choose between either i would go with the JVC and use a F:0.95 lens. Otherwise spend the extra couple dollars and goto the Sanyo True Day Night, cost is slightly higher but it is one of the least expensive of its type, compared to GE, Pano, Bosch, etc. http://www.sanyo.com/industrial/security/cameras/special/index.cfm?productID=147 OR (slightly lower lux) http://www.sanyo.com/industrial/security/cameras/special/index.cfm?productID=1235 Rory
Securitymaster 0 Posted January 18, 2006 I have used the Toshiba IK6400 for some major projects where the bottom dollar was a concern. I must admit that while is not a true day night, it does however perform excellent for the price. Color reproduction during the day is beautiful, while the B/W mode at night is good for most cases, just don't use it where the is very low light. Send me a PM and I'll show you a link so that you can see them in action.
