Hikvision NVR

Hello,

 

We are considering installing a Hikvision NVR.

 

I have a few questions regarding the NVR:

 

1. What is the best model to go with when buying 14+ IP cameras recording at mostly 1.3MP

 

2. Would it support 3rd party brands, how frequently do they update their device list?

 

3. Is it better to keep NVR near cameras or place it in control room, what does cameras do when there is no link to NVR?

By and large, hikvision nvr's remain a total mystery. No one has ever done an indepth demo of one, try as I may on numerous occasions to get one. Good luck.
