treygleghorn 0 Posted May 7, 2014 I just have a few questions on video recording. I have all the necessary options selected for video recording to record for at least a week. The system used to record 30 days but now it will only record two days regardless of the settings. I guess my main question is: Is the video codec i am using causing the video files to be too large and is running out of space so it can only keeping two days worth of files? Also, How many days of recording can i expect with each video codec? Also what kind of quality comes with each other video codecs? I am just at the end of my rope with this. I have been messing with this for a few months now. Please HELP!!!!
jeromephone 6 Posted May 7, 2014 Several things to look at size of harddrive you are storing files on, FPS of recordings, image quality. are you recording on motion only or full time. You also need to look at where your storage folders are. someone could have put them on the C: drive while your bigger drives say D are not in the path. Look in your manual or online manual for how to setup recording and storage
treygleghorn 0 Posted May 7, 2014 I do not believe it is the size of the hard drive because in the past the hard drive would hold up to 30 days of video files. It is recording round-the-clock. Since these are outside cameras the motion detection would trigger whenever the wind blows in the trees. So would you recommend switching it back to motion detection?
