need2shave 0 Posted May 11, 2014 I've been a user of VideoIQ for several years now mainly the RialtoI4...and while I've always found the units buggy - issues exporting video. The most recent units I've purchased are so much of a hassle I need to move on. After a power reset, it is virtually impossible to export any video before the power down despite the fact that I can view the recordings. I've done factory resets, upgrades to firmware, downgrades of firmware, checked the time settings, etc etc etc...but nothing works. Previously one of these efforts would eventually fix the issue (although there was never any rhyme or reason for it)...but now nothing. I also never get a straight answer from tech support. Exporting video shouldn't require a witch doctor on standby. So I'm looking for suggestions on other analytics for intrusion detection. Anyone have a rec? thewireguys 3 Posted May 11, 2014 I have been deploying Rialtos for while now and I haven't had any issues exporting video. That being said they are not perfect and they can be temperament but I have experienced more issues with View software. That being said now that Avigilon is in control and ACC 5 will be directly integrated with the Rialtos I see this only getting better and better. Are you selling these to customers or are you installing them for yourself? What firmware are you using? Have upgraded to Avigilon View?
need2shave 0 Posted May 11, 2014 (edited) Primarily for customers. The application requires the units to be powered on and off frequently and exporting video is essential. I've always been able to get it going previously after adjusting settings but not the units purchased in the past month. I was hoping the Avigilon buy out would improve the units, but I'm having more issues than ever now. I did upgrade to Avigilon View. Currently using 4.6.2 but scaled back to 4.4.0. If it's user error on my part, that'd be great, I just need to find out what it is. I don't want to jump ship.. Edited May 11, 2014 by Guest
thewireguys 3 Posted May 11, 2014 Why do they need to powered on and off so much? What cameras are you using with them? It's going to take a couple of months but things should be changing for the better very soon.
need2shave 0 Posted May 11, 2014 They're being used for covert applications - deployed for a few days at a pop and then retrieved for video export. I'm using Panasonic cameras with it.
thewireguys 3 Posted May 11, 2014 So the Analog version? I do agree exporting view off them is very clumsy
need2shave 0 Posted May 11, 2014 No, the I4s. I've used the analog A4s for perimeter protection on some residences and never had these issues with exporting....just problematic on the I4s. Previously a firmware upgrade or adjustment on the time setting fixed the issue, but that isn't working on the two I just bought in the past month.
thewireguys 3 Posted May 11, 2014 Did you need the analytics or are you just looking for the storage? DVTEL has something like the Railto but I don't think it has onboard storage. I am currently testing a I4 over a LTE connection and I have no issues exporting video. This unit also gets power cycled alot. What error messages are you getting? Are the issues with alarm clip for full alarm event?
need2shave 0 Posted May 11, 2014 I need the analytics to identify activity when the units are deployed. Trying to keep the draw to a minimum since the units are running off battery. Adding another device for recording would be a hassle but if that's what has to be done then...
need2shave 0 Posted May 11, 2014 It occurs when I try to export the full alarm event. When I switch over to the export tab it says unavailable.
thewireguys 3 Posted May 11, 2014 Are you sending alerts over wifi or LTE?
need2shave 0 Posted May 11, 2014 LTE. Also, when I pull the unit to download locally, I get the unavailable error also.
thewireguys 3 Posted May 11, 2014 LTE. Also, when I pull the unit to download locally, I get the unavailable error also. I have never seen that error on any VideoIQ product. Are you using the supervisor account?
need2shave 0 Posted May 11, 2014 Yes. I think I'm cursed! When I talk to tech support they say the same thing. Maybe its the hard start/stop???
thewireguys 3 Posted May 11, 2014 It occurs when I try to export the full alarm event. When I switch over to the export tab it says unavailable. When I am watching an alarm clip and I click export full alarm event the HD clip is automatically exported from the device to my computer. Do you know what the default location for that folder is? need2shave 0 Posted May 11, 2014 Interesting. When I'm in the alarm type and hit export full alarm event, it then goes to the export tab in View. That is where I'm getting the unavailable error. If the video makes it to the export tab, then I offload it to my computer. Seems I may be going through an extra step and maybe eliminating the tab would solve the issue. Where did you set up the feature to go straight to the computer?
thewireguys 3 Posted May 11, 2014 Are you using the web GUI or View software? The Export button opens a page in view that shows all the videos you have exported on your computer. These exports are in a default folder on your computer. You then have the option to Copy or Email the clips. Here is the default location of the exports C:\VideoIQ data\Export
need2shave 0 Posted May 11, 2014 I've got no video in the export folder. The low quality alarm clips are in the clips folder but it is failing to export the high quality video.
