DVR to bridge connection

Recommended Posts

have a night owl DVR with 8 cameras. This DVR is connected in a room to a monitor but I need to watch cameras over internet. My gateway is a Comcast cable modem far from where my DVR is, so it is unpractical to run a CAT 5 cable all the way from a room to the other. I have searched the internet and found that you can connect a DVR to a bridge to link it to router wirelessly. I bought a Linksys WUMC710 bridge to accomplish this, but my question is, how to port forward the Comcast cable modem now that I'm using a bridge. The instructions that came with the DVR are for connecting DVR to router which is connected to PC, but in this case the router--cable modem-- is in a room and the DVR in other as I mentioned before.

Can you please help me how to work out this problem or give me an alternate solution?

Thank you.
