Biggo 0 Posted June 3, 2014 I found my PTZ CCTV always pointing downwards, can't move up. How to troubleshoot that's problem? I already reset from maintenance menu and turn off the power, but no effect.
the toss 0 Posted June 3, 2014 That will be it's "home" position on power up. Has this ever worked properly?

Numb-nuts 1 Posted June 3, 2014 On start up the camera should do a small rotation to establish that the motors and drive belts are intact and working, if it just doesn't move at all and that is all you are getting, I would take a look at the drive belts first. Perhaps one has snapped? or even the slip ring has failed? You don't mention climbing up to the camera to take a look? Did you do a pre-install bench test. I always do this as often it's a real pain to work on the camera after it's installed.
adamxp12 0 Posted June 15, 2014 No.. The home position not like this. Is that an error on the screen about the power? maybe the camera is not getting enough power and stops everything and points to the floor or something what sort of cable you powering this camera from is it 18/2 or is it some pairs on cat5 cable a ptz needs a lot of power and so 18/2 should be used if possible as cat5 cable is too thin to carry 2-4 amps of power for a standard ptz dome. how manys amps is your power supply? again should be at least 4 amps for most ptz domes to work properly. cctvmann 0 Posted February 19, 2015 i would have a look at the power supply as that message appears to be saying that there isnt enough supply to it.
