Samsung NVR - iPolis cennecting trouble

Recommended Posts

Samsung equipment installed:

SRN-1670D - NVR = 01

SND-7082 (internal Dome Camera) = 02

SNO-7082R (bullet camera) = 04

can not connect iPolis mobile...

upgraded the firmware of NVR from 1.1 to 1.3 still not solved.

Everything else is working OK.

when i connect through smartviewer remotely, it just works like a charm!

only error that i can track is that when i try to open the DDNS address in internet explorer it opens the IP address, but not the port.

then i manually input the ":port#" then the live view comes up.

explanation:

i enter "www.samsungipolis.com/mycam" in IE9, the webpage goes from this to physical address like "92.59.87.123" and then stops.

then i change this to "92.59.87.123:557" and the live view starts!

CAN SOMEBODY TELL ME WHAT AM I DOING WRONG? maybe I have wrongly configured the port forwarding on my router?

but if that was the case would the SmartViewer also not work...

i want to connect to NVR through iPolis Mobile to be able to view all the 6 cameras like can do in smartviewer.

some snapshots also attached.

I recently found issues trying to connect to samsungs older model cameras using windows 7- it didn't like it - wouldn't connect via web browser but worked ok using Samsung live viewer, I then tried windows xp to connect via web browser- and it connected straight away.

maybe this will help .

Well ... I was finally able to resolve the issue!!

In my opinion the port 80 has been blocked by the ISP; and due to lack of complete information on part of the owner, I could not get the ISP to open port 80 for mobile connections.

So, what I did was as follows:

Changed the webviewer / HTTP port to 559 (this makes me manually put 192.168.x.x:559 to open the local webviewer)

and also port forwarded the same, including the range 554-558.

And .... now iPolis mobile works just fine.

to reach to this point I had to go through intensive port checking and testing, as I was not able to open port 80 no matter what I tried.

Is Samsung NVR's compatible with all IP cameras? Is there a specified list?

Well its samsung, and it would support samsung IP cameras; there should be no restrictions! But the brand must be samsung.

any other brand may also work but not sure as I have not tried a mix. you will have to try yourself.
