ok let me explain my problem, i have installed a kguard TC-801 4 cameras kit over a month ago.i have set up per instructions, but i noticed if i set up a static ip on the dvr the router (netgear WNR 1000v2)wont detect the dvr but if i set to dhcp it detects it(and the ports can be seen using canyouseeme) (dhcp ip get ports static ip not) anyway i set up a ddns address using the kguard ddns web site and the dvr connects successfully and the says ip address updated(not the dvr ip) when i try to open the dvr channels on the network i tipe the external address and web port of the router using chrome it says something i dont remember now about the plugin,so i tried using ie and i get a blank page so i used another laptop and i get just a black sceen,no display whatsoever.and also i cant get to see the cameras on any phone android or iphone. can you guys help me/ i ask very humbly Thanks

undo the rules assignment, reset your DVR to the IP you want192.168.0.XXX remove the DHCP tickbox save and and restart the DVR. Login to the router admin / password

then in the main section open the LAN settings and reserve the IP of your DVR. Then go into advanced settings and set your rules for the DVR to that IP address and apply, then save and restart the router and then check your ports.

They're OPEN yay!

What is meant by the ip address updated it means that your networks public IP address updated As this is an outgoing service you needn't have completed the port forwarding for this to happen. It just sent the DDNS server the public address of the network it is on.

ok tried to set up a ip route in the router and i typed as follows

dvr ip 192.168.100.223

sub net 255.255.255.255

gateway 192.168.100.001

as in the dvr. done fallowing your instructions and when i click ok i got invalid gateway ip address type again

and no matter what i could not get this thing working

customer is going to buy another router that is easier to set up i guess netgear ones are not dvr friendly

Subnet is in error

Change to

255.255.255.0

Is the DHCP range to be '100' or '1' if it's '1' just type 1

which would be 192.168.1.223 if not ignore this

You can avoid such errors if you follow this procedure

main menu>system>network...

1. Select DHCP save and restart DVR.

2. Disable DHCP (untick) and then change the device identifier (last series of 3 digits) to the value you selected i.e 223

3. Save and restart.

This method takes care of all settings such as default gateway address and subnet mask and DHCP-range values.

You are NEARLY there!

Let me see if I can find out what's going on by reading up. Sorry it didn't work for you. I said those routers were horrible to set up, always some little thing with them. Have you spoken to the Technical support at your ISP? I have always found them a very good source of information when unexplained things happen like this.

Hi. How long have you had recorder ???

It also has cloud direction that if not used you need to switch off.

Netgear router is simple to set if problems it's more in recorder network settings .

Can you list your recorder network settings

Also sent you manual follow that and then you have a starting point
